Make this verification a standard step in your booking process, not something you do only when a parent asks. Beyond the federal baseline, check your state's additional requirements: many states mandate fingerprint-based criminal background checks for drivers transporting minors, and some require specific endorsements on the driver's CDL.

Budget is the other constant pressure. District transportation budgets are typically set annually, and field trip costs must often be pre-approved through a purchase order system that adds weeks to the booking timeline.
