How to Change Your Booking

Learn how to modify your charter bus reservation including changing dates, times, bus type, and passenger count.

Need to adjust your charter bus reservation? Buslane makes it easy to modify your booking details. Here is everything you need to know about making changes.

What You Can Change

The following booking details can be modified after your reservation is confirmed:

  • Trip date and time: Move your trip to a different date or adjust pickup/drop-off times
  • Pickup and drop-off locations: Change addresses or add new stops
  • Bus type or size: Upgrade to a larger bus or switch to a different vehicle type
  • Passenger count: Update your headcount (this may affect bus type and pricing)
  • Trip duration: Extend or shorten your rental period
  • Additional stops: Add winery visits, rest stops, or other waypoints to your itinerary

How to Request a Change

You can modify your booking in three ways:

  1. Online: Log into your Buslane account, open your trip details, and click "Modify Booking." Available changes will be shown with any price adjustments.
  2. Email: Send your change request to support@buslane.com with your booking confirmation number and the details you want to change. We respond within one business day.
  3. Phone: Call (206) 487-1994 during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 6 PM PT) for immediate assistance.

Change Fees

  • Changes made 14+ days before the trip: No change fee. You only pay any price difference if the new arrangement costs more, or receive a credit if it costs less.
  • Changes made 7-13 days before the trip: A $75 change fee applies, plus any price difference.
  • Changes made less than 7 days before the trip: A $150 change fee applies, plus any price difference. Changes within this window are subject to vehicle and driver availability.

Price Adjustments

When you modify your booking, the price may change based on the new details:

  • Date changes: Pricing varies by day of the week and season. Weekend and holiday rates may be higher.
  • Bus type upgrades: You pay the difference between your original bus and the new one.
  • Bus type downgrades: A credit is applied to your payment method for the price difference.
  • Adding stops or hours: Additional time is billed at the hourly rate for your bus type.

Any price difference is charged or refunded within 3-5 business days of the modification.

Changes That Require a New Booking

Some changes are significant enough that they require cancelling the existing booking and creating a new one:

  • Changing the origin or destination city entirely (e.g., switching from Seattle to Portland to Seattle to Vancouver)
  • Changing from a one-way trip to a multi-day rental or vice versa
  • Transferring a booking to a different person or organization

In these cases, standard cancellation terms apply to the original booking. Our team can walk you through the process to minimize any fees.

Tips for Smooth Changes

  • Make changes as early as possible to avoid fees and ensure availability
  • If you expect your headcount to fluctuate, book a bus with some extra capacity upfront
  • Keep your booking confirmation number handy when contacting us
