The short answer: it depends on the bus type.
Full-size charter coaches (50–56 passengers) include an onboard restroom as standard equipment. Every full-size motor coach in our network has a rear restroom with a toilet and sink, serviced before each trip.
Minibuses (24–35 passengers), shuttle vans (14–24 passengers), and sprinter vans (8–14 passengers) do not have onboard restrooms. These smaller vehicles are designed for shorter routes — typically under 90 minutes — where passengers can use restrooms at their origin, destination, or stops along the way.
When Does the Restroom Matter?
For trips under 60–90 minutes, the absence of a restroom on a minibus is rarely an issue. Wine tours, wedding shuttles, and corporate outings typically have built-in venue stops where restroom access is available.
For longer journeys — airport transfers over 2 hours, mountain resort runs, or routes between cities — restroom access becomes a genuine consideration. In these cases, a full-size coach is the practical choice.
How to Request a Bus with a Restroom
When submitting a quote request through Buslane, specify that an onboard restroom is required. You can add this in the notes field. We will filter our operator network to match you with full-size coach operators who have restroom-equipped vehicles available for your date and route.
Specifying this upfront avoids the situation where you book a minibus and discover on the day of the trip that there's no restroom on board.
